Eco-Friendly Starter Boxes for your home

Hi. My name is Tyler Sofer and I am currently a high school student who took an initiative to create an easier and cost-efficient way to help families and the world become more eco-friendly.

One afternoon, I watched a classmate dump an entire pile of barely-used plastic forks and wrappers into the trash. He laughed and said, "Whatever... it's just easier." I remember feeling this mix of frustration and understanding. He wasn't being careless. He genuinely didn't know there were simple, less expensive alternatives. And honestly, most don't.

In my science classes, we learned about climate change in these huge, overwhelming terms-rising temperatures, melting ice caps but nobody talked about what a teenager could do in a normal day to make a difference.

That night, I looked around my own house and realized my family only used eco-friendly items because someone had once shown us the swaps a reusable cloth instead of paper towels, a bamboo brush instead of plastic, a tote bag instead of yet another grocery bag. None of these things were expensive. They were just unfamiliar to most people my age.

I kept thinking: If people had an easy starting point— something literally handed to them-would they make small changes that add up?

That's when the idea for my eco-friendly starter boxes was born. I wanted to make sustainability something you didn't have to research or overthink. Just open the box, use what's inside, and you're already doing better for the planet.

For me, these boxes are more than products. They're a way to show my generation that environmental responsibility doesn't start with a protest or a policy. It starts with the everyday items we reach for without thinking. And if I can make those choices easier and more affordable for people, then I'm doing something that matters-one small box at a time.
